  Considering this deficiency has been ongoing since 2011, I don't suspect it is their priority. :-(

  I reported these recent test results in the Lounge.
  Running both QWin and QMac Subsc (QWin under Parallels/Win10).
  Used QXF export/import to convert QMac to QWin.
  Categories were scrambled initially in QWin.
  Closed and then later reopened the QWin file and the categories were normal.
  Repeated conversion process.
  Again, QWin categories scrambled.
  Initiated File > Backp of QWin file (wanted to save a copy in 'scrambled' condition).
  Upon completion of backup, screen refreshed and categories were normal.
  Restored the backup and categories were normal; i.e., was unable to save a copy in scrambled condition.
  Another observation in'scrambled' condition.
  My grocery store purchases are normally categorized 'Groceries'.
  These purchases were categorized 'Consulting:Meals' in scrambled condition.
  Ran Banking > Transaction Report customized for YTD 'Groceries' category.
  Got the correct list of transactions and correct total spent on Groceries - but report displayed 'Consulting:Meals' as category instead of 'Groceries'.
  Other observations in conversion process;
  No investment account data was converted - no investment accounts were created in QWin.
  Transfer links did not convert.
  Both halves of a transfer converted with a Category of 'Transfer' but no link between source and destination accounts.
  If, in QMac, a transfer had also been assigned a category, the assigned category was displayed in QWin - but again, no transfer link.

• ok, thank you. guess i will go back to old mac version and not pay the subscription fee..
• Actually, an interesting experiment was done by one SU very recently and found that the biggest problem of transaction categories getting scrambled seems to be a temporary screen refresh issue that was resolved simply by quitting and restarting QWin. YMMV.
  Of course, what is still missing is the ability to load financial transactions from QMac.

• I am dismayed that they have not fixed this! Good reason to drop the product! I have years of history that I cannot afford to lose, and use it for comparisons and cumulative spend all the time. I am not a very sophisticated user. Is there a way around using export from Mac and Import to Windows. I could do it by year or some grouping to make reconciling easier? Please help!

  You can run both the QWin and QMac versions side-by-side on your system. Each version has its' own datafile and you will have to update/maintain each version independently.
  Try it and then you can decide for yourself whether QMac meets your needs. This is also an ideal mode to run in while you progress up the learning curve of QMac - you still have your old familiar QWin at hand.
  FWIW, I have been running in this mode for several years now and QMac is very close to satisfying my needs.

• @jamiejav Quicken Mac is substantially different from Quicken Windows. You ask if it's as 'robust', but that question could be answered many different ways: the database in Quicken Mac is probably more robust (e.g. reliable) than the one in Quicken Windows; the overall feature set of Quicken Mac is less robust than Quicken Windows.
  No one can answer the question of whether Quicken Mac will meet your needs but you; we all use Quicken differently and depend on different aspects of the program, so what's a show-stopper missing feature to one of us is something someone else never uses and therefore doesn't miss. That's why doing what @J_Mike suggested is the best way for you to answer your own questions: try it, give it a little time to learn it, ask questions about things you don't understand, and then make a decision whether it is what you want to use going forward.
