I've searched quite a bit in the forum for help and just haven't found a clear answer to my problem so I decided to post a new topic:
I'm using a Synology NAS Server (unix based) to share videos, pictures and other data with family members across the world. To secure this connection I'm using an SSL certificate that I purchased at GoDaddy.com.
Since I encrypted the connection the Video streaming stopped working. The VLC player(plugin) used by this Video Station simply tells me that its unable to read the video format. Using HTTP everything worked just fine.
When I contacted Synology support, here is what they said:
'From our internal testing, only certain SSL certificates will work with VLC plug-in. If you are not able to stream via HTTPS with your SSL certificate, please contact VLC support regarding this issue.'
Can anybody tell me how to resolve this certificate issue? I generated the key with Open SSL on the server(not sure if that could help).

The default Firefox comes with certificates from well-known commercial CAs. My ISP is also CA and Firefox cannot verified it because the CA is not recognized. How do I force Firefox to accept my ISPs certificate?

Choose Preferences from the Edit menu.

Click the Advanced button.

Select the Encryption pane.

Click the View Certificates button.

Click the Authorities tab.

Click the Import button at the bottom of the screen.

Navigate to the CA certificate and import it.
